No rating yet(0 ratings)This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print is listed in Black, size L, under sku-13257620343 and UPC 464562357369. The 16" x 20" historic print is titled "[Family home(?) of Horatio Alger]" and credits Cedric G. Chase Photographic Laboratories, Inc. Snapshots of the Past makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Printing techniques made inexpensive mass production of posters possible; lithography was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989, laying the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995. That program digitizes selected Library collections focused on the complex history of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival papers. Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, as well as early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Retro-style posters can be displayed at home, in a study or at work, or given as gifts.
