No rating yet(0 ratings)Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, sku-13273714396, UPC 462042976482, comes in Black, size L. This 16" x 20" historic print reproduces an engraved admission card for a memorial service for James Abram Garfield. It shows a head-and-shoulders portrait facing right and is dated Feb. 27, 1882.
Snapshots of the Past makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives using archival paper and pigmented inks. Founded in 2001, the company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers.
It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.
The company's archival-paper and pigmented-ink prints are intended to last for generations. Its range also includes holiday posters and early aerial views of cities.
