This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print, sku-13274314079 and UPC 466696223701, is Black, size L, and measures 16" x 20". It reproduces the historic print Down where nature cannot send her cooling breezes science sends the electric fan. The company restores archival maps, photographs and prints from the Library of Congress as home decor.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced posters possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks, materials intended to last for generations. The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
