Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13209322577

This Snapshots of the Past Wall Art print depicts a D.A.R. tribute to America's Unknown Soldier in Washington, D.C., on April 16. It measures 16 x 20 inches and is listed as Black, size L. The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past says it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers have included over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the groundwork for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history.

The seller also suggests historical holiday posters and early aerial city views as display pieces or gifts for a home, study or workplace. SKU: sku-13209322577. UPC: 467969248032.
