Snapshots of the Past Black Wall Art L sku-13291510290

This 16" x 20" historic print shows a comical scene: a maid sits on a man's lap and kisses him while his wife watches. It is Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, SKU sku-13291510290, UPC 467030400758. Snapshots of the Past makes restored reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints from the Library of Congress archives, using fine-art and archival papers.

Prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, the company was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers.

It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections about American cultural history.

The company's other print subjects include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. Its retro-style posters can be displayed at home or work or given as gifts.
