Snapshots of the Past Historic Wall Art L sku-13603851274

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L, reproduces a historic print about a retired professor's bottle collection in Washington, D.C., dated Nov. 27. The print measures 16 x 20 inches. The company restores historical maps, photos, and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796 and made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible.

The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper with pigmented inks, intended to last a lifetime and be passed down.

The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco for display at home, in a study, or at work, or to give as gifts. UPC: 464297860288. SKU: sku-13603851274.
