Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints.

A Library of Congress pilot project called American Memory began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks can last a lifetime and be passed down.

The company's range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco for display at home or work or as gifts.
