Snapshots of the Past Wall Art 16 x 20 L sku-13299870115

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art is a Black, size L historic print measuring 16 x 20. The image is credited to Sgt. John Bushemi and depicts a wounded Japanese soldier left behind as others withdrew. The print is a reproduction of an image from the Library of Congress archives.

Snapshots of the Past was founded in 2001 and was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography was invented in 1796, making inexpensive mass production of prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; that project laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections related to American cultural history. These reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks.
