Snapshots of the Past sku-13341362591 is Black Wall Art in size L, UPC 466571856802. The 16" x 20" historic reproduction shows the house at 3315 Alpine Street, Southwest, in Huntsville, Madison County, AL. The company reproduces historical maps, photos and prints restored from Library of Congress archives, using archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints. Its customers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online buyers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot in 1989; that work laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections concerning American cultural history. The company's reproductions also include old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, as well as early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco. They can be displayed at home or at work or given as gifts.
