Snapshots of the Past Black L Print | sku-5284272836
No rating yet(0 ratings)Historic framed print of Very Rev. Noble C. Powell and Bishop James Freeman, 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". Snapshots of the Past, founded in 2001, reproduces historical maps, photos and prints from the Library of Congress archives. The company says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints.
Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project. Lithography was invented in 1796 and enabled inexpensive mass production of poster prints.
The Library's American Memory pilot began in 1989 and laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage. The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks intended to last for generations.
The range includes old Halloween, Mother's Day and Valentine's Day posters, early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco, and retro-style posters for the home, study or workplace or as gifts.
