Snapshots of the Past L Framed Wall Art sku-5294474057

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art in Black, size L (sku-5294474057; UPC 469266736595), is a framed print showing the president, professors and students of Liberia College. The print measures 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". The company restores historical maps, photos and prints from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of Internet customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project of 2008.

Lithography, invented in 1796, made inexpensive mass production of poster prints possible. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections focused on American cultural history.

The reproductions use fine-art and archival paper; archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to keep prints suitable for display and passing down. The range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco for display at home, in a study or at work, or as gifts.
