Snapshots of the Past Wall Art L Print | sku-5283511962

Snapshots of the Past Wall Art, size L, is a Black framed print showing a group of schoolchildren in front of a George Washington statue in Washington, D.C. The print measures 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". Its image comes from the Library of Congress archives; the brand restores historical maps, photos and prints as home decor.

Founded in 2001, Snapshots of the Past was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproduction prints. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of Internet customers. The company was selected as a vendor for the 2008 White House redecoration project.

Lithography, invented in 1796, helped make inexpensive mass-produced prints possible. In 1989, the Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project, which laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program launched in 1995. That program digitizes selected collections emphasizing the complexity of American cultural heritage.

The brand uses fine-art and archival papers; prints made with archival paper and pigmented inks are intended to last a lifetime and be passed down. Its range includes holiday posters and early aerial views of cities, suited to display at home or work or to give as gifts. SKU: sku-5283511962. UPC: 464826053624.
