Snapshots of the Past Wall Art Print L sku-5231575095

Snapshots of the Past framed Wall Art print, "Dead rebel in front of Petersburg," measures 17-7/8 by 21-7/8 inches. It is listed in Black, size L, with SKU sku-5231575095 and UPC 467076058968. The company reproduces historical maps, photographs, and prints restored from Library of Congress archives.

Founded in 2001, it says it was the first to offer Library of Congress images as museum-quality fine-art reproductions. Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, as well as tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008.

The listing notes that lithography, invented in 1796, enabled inexpensive mass production of prints. It also describes the Library of Congress American Memory pilot project, begun in 1989, as a foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 and digitizes selected collections on American cultural heritage.

The reproductions use archival paper and pigmented inks, which the listing says can last a lifetime and be passed down. It suggests retro posters, including Halloween, Mother's Day, and Valentine's Day designs or early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago, and San Francisco, for a home, study, workplace, or gift.
