This Black, size L Wall Art from Snapshots of the Past is a framed print of the 7th Ave. subway cave-in, dated 9/22/15 - 4, measuring 17-7/8" x 21-7/8". The company makes reproductions of historical maps, photographs and prints restored from Library of Congress archives. Founded in 2001, it was the first company to offer Library of Congress images as fine-art reproduction prints.

Its buyers include over 200 bookstores and other retailers, along with tens of thousands of online customers. It was selected as a vendor for the White House redecoration project in 2008. The prints use archival paper and pigmented inks and are intended to last for generations. Other subjects include old holiday posters and early aerial views of Manhattan, Boston, Chicago and San Francisco.

Lithography, a technique that made inexpensive mass-produced prints possible, was invented in 1796. The Library of Congress began its American Memory pilot project in 1989; it laid the foundation for the National Digital Library Program, which began in 1995 to digitize selected collections concerning American cultural history.
