DW DRKT82C04CF664 Drums By Brand | sku-18548101817

The DW Collector's SonicPly Satin Oil shell pack, model DRKT82C04CF664, is listed under Drums By Brand as sku-18548101817, UPC 647139711409. Developed over two years of experimentation led by DW's John Good, the 4-piece kit is built in the California Custom Shop. Its North American maple shells have an aircraft-grade aluminum core described as 0 6 mm.

The toms and bass drum have eight maple plies and one aluminum layer; the snare construction described for SonicPly has twelve plies and two aluminum layers. The kit includes 10x7-inch and 12x8-inch toms, a 16x16-inch floor tom and a 22x18-inch bass drum. Fully rounded bearing edges aid sustain and head seating.

Suspended Tom Mounts, full-size turret lugs, True Hoops, heavy-duty bass drum spurs and bass drum T-rods support mounting, tuning and stability. The Satin Slate satin oil finish is applied by hand, with sanding between coats to show the maple grain. Precision ply bonding, reinforcement hoops, True Pitch tension rods and dual-action truss systems are also described.

The maple-and-aluminum shells combine the warmth and resonance of wood with the projection, attack and clarity of metal, responding to both forceful and soft playing for live and studio use.
