Precision circular polarizer designed for the Pentax HD PENTAX-D FA* 85mm f/1.4 ED SDM AW lens. The ultra-slim aluminum frame minimizes the risk of vignetting while still allowing full rotation for polarization adjustment and leveling. A nonslip upper rim makes it easy to install, rotate and remove the filter on the lens. Optical surfaces feature double-sided, multi-layered coatings that deliver anti-oil, anti-dust and anti-soil protection, and the glass is scratch & water resistant. These coatings improve durability and keep the filter clearer for longer in the field. As a circular CPL, this filter removes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, while boosting color saturation and contrast. It’s commonly used to deepen blue skies and make white clouds pop, and it also reduces haze in distant landscapes to produce richer, more vivid colors. The CPL works by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, allowing much of that reflected light to be absorbed. For the strongest effect, position the filter so the subject is approximately at a 90° angle from the sun.
