Made for the Sony FE 35mm F2.8 ZA Carl Zeiss Sonnar T*, this circular polarizing (CPL) filter reduces unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass while boosting color and contrast. Its ultra-slim aluminum frame is engineered to prevent vignetting and still permits full rotation for fine adjustment of the polarization effect. A nonslip upper rim simplifies installation, rotation and removal. Optical surfaces feature double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, and both scratch and water resistant. The filter works by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light so it is perpendicular to the reflected light, allowing much of that reflected light to be absorbed. The result is clearer distant landscapes, deeper, more saturated colors and increased contrast — particularly effective for intensifying blue skies and white clouds. The polarizing effect is strongest when shooting at a 90° angle from the sun.
