This circular CPL filter removes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, and enhances color and contrast. It’s commonly used to boost contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. The filter works by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, allowing much of that light to be absorbed — reducing glare, cutting haze in distant landscapes and producing more saturated, vivid colors. For strongest results, use the filter when your subject is at approximately a 90° angle to the sun.
