Circular Polarizing (CPL) Filter for Sony 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM — Ultra-Slim Aluminum Frame

Designed for the Sony 70-400mm F4-5.6 G SSM, this circular polarizing (CPL) filter uses an ultra-slim aluminum frame to prevent vignetting while still allowing rotation for level adjustments. A nonslip upper rim makes installation, rotation and removal quick and easy. The glass is treated with double-sided, multi-layered coatings and is anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, scratch & water resistant. As a CPL, it removes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass and improves color and contrast—particularly useful for boosting contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds. By arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, the filter allows much of that light to be absorbed, reducing haze in distant landscapes and rendering more saturated, vivid colors. The effect is strongest when the filter is used at a 90° angle from the sun.
