Reduces unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass while enhancing color and contrast. Frequently used to deepen blue skies and boost saturation in white clouds; the effect is strongest when the filter is used at a 90° angle to the sun.

The CPL arranges and filters directionally polarized light perpendicular to the reflected light, allowing much of that reflected light to be absorbed — this also helps clear haze in distant landscapes and yields more saturated, vivid colors. Constructed with an ultra-slim aluminum frame to prevent vignetting yet maintain rotation capabilities for adjusting levels.
