Made for the Canon RF-S 55-210mm F5-7.1 IS STM, this circular polarizing (CPL) filter reduces reflections from non-metallic surfaces (water, glass, etc.) while boosting color depth and contrast. It’s especially useful for intensifying blue skies and white clouds and for clearing haze in distant landscapes. The strongest polarization effect is achieved when shooting at a 90° angle from the sun. Construction and handling: an ultra-slim aluminum frame minimizes vignetting and still allows full rotation for fine adjustment. A nonslip upper rim makes the filter easy to mount, rotate and remove. Optical protection: the glass features double-sided, multi-layered coatings that are anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil and scratch & water resistant, preserving image quality and making the filter easier to clean. How it works: the CPL arranges and filters directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light, allowing much of the unwanted reflected light to be absorbed, yielding clearer, more saturated, vivid colors.
