Optical glass is protected by double sided, multi-layered coatings and is anti-oil, anti-dust, anti-soil, scratch & water resistant. This circular CPL reduces unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces such as water and glass, and it boosts color depth and contrast. Commonly employed to intensify contrast and saturation in blue skies and white clouds, the filter orients and filters directionally polarized light at right angles to reflected light, enabling absorption of much of that light. It also diminishes distant haze and yields richer, more vivid landscape colors; the effect is strongest when used at a 90° angle from the sun.
