Designed for the Canon EF-S 55-250mm f/4-5.6 IS, this circular polarizing (CPL) filter removes unwanted reflections from non-metallic surfaces like water and glass while boosting color and contrast. Use it to deepen blue skies, make white clouds pop, reduce haze in distant landscapes and produce more saturated, vivid colors. The ultra-slim aluminum frame prevents vignetting yet still allows full rotation to fine-tune polarization. A nonslip upper rim makes mounting, rotating and removing the filter quick and secure. Dual-sided, multi-layer coatings give the glass anti-oil, anti-dust and anti-soil protection and are scratch- and water-resistant. CPL filters work by arranging and filtering directionally polarized light perpendicular to reflected light to absorb much of that reflection — the effect is strongest when shooting at a 90° angle from the sun.
