Engineered for smaller APS-C sensors and automatically switching a full-frame EOS R into 1.6x crop mode when mounted. Optical design includes two Aspheric elements and Canon Super Spectra Coating to deliver high image quality and control flare. Features built-in image stabilization (IS) and a quiet lead screw-type STM for smooth, low-noise autofocus performance during stills and video. Close-focusing capability: minimum focus distance of 7.9 inches (AF) with a maximum magnification of 0.16x (AF). A Circular (7 blades) aperture helps produce pleasing, soft background rendering.
