Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Prime Lens for EOS DSLR Cameras — Compact, Lightweight Portrait & Low-Light Lens
4.0(5 ratings)A compact, lightweight 50mm prime designed for everyday shooting and low-light situations thanks to its bright f/1.8 aperture that delivers attractive background blur. When mounted on an APS-C camera it provides an 80mm effective focal-length, making it well suited for portraits and fast-moving subjects such as children and pets.
The Gear-type STM (stepping motor) supports Movie Servo AF to provide smooth, quiet continuous autofocus for both video recording and still photography. Updated exterior styling includes a relocated focus ring that helps make this the most compact Canon 50mm lens, while a metal mount adds stability and durability.
Optical element placement and specialized coatings are optimized to produce excellent color balance and to minimize ghosting and flare.
