Overview: The Amcrest NV4108E-A2 is an 8-channel PoE Network Video Recorder that supports up to eight 8MP/4K IP cameras and accepts a single internal hard drive up to 10TB (HDD not included). It delivers recording and live view at up to 8MP/4K resolution at real-time 30fps. Recording & Playback: Records 8 channels simultaneously. Playback capabilities include 8-Channel at 1080p (30fps), 4-Channel at 4MP (30fps), and 2-Channel at 4K (30fps). Compression & Storage Efficiency: Built-in H.265 compression reduces storage needs while preserving UltraHD video quality so you can retain footage longer without increasing drive capacity. Search, Playback & Backup Tools: Includes intelligent search functions (motion detection event search and an exact-time search accurate to one second), convenient playback controls, and USB backup support for easy export of recordings. Camera Compatibility & AI: Works with all Amcrest wired and WiFi IP cameras and has limited compatibility with third-party brand-compliant IP cameras. The unit supports AI features provided by compatible AI IP cameras (features available depend on the camera model). Note: the NVR has no built-in AI capabilities and only supports 2CH AI cameras at 4K@30fps. Network & Performance Notes: Powers and manages PoE IP cameras directly over Ethernet. Maximum incoming bandwidth is 80Mbps. The unit can record 8 cameras at 4K using H.264; for optimal multi-4K recording, change the default codec from H.264 to H.265 and set each camera’s bit rate to 1792.
