ACR Electronics ACR2852 Boating EPIRB | sku-5057699576

ACR Electronics ACR2852, sku-5057699576, is the Yellow GlobalFix V5 AIS CAT II EPIRB for Boating. UPC: 791659028520. Size (Antenna Up/Beacon Only): 4.3"W x 18.5"H x 4.36“D. This Category II beacon uses manual release. When activated, it sends its GNSS position through 406 MHz Cospas Sarsat satellite transmissions and broadcasts an AIS alert to nearby equipped vessels.

The AIS message can show vessel identification and the beacon as a target for local rescue. Return Link Service sends confirmation through the Galileo network, indicated by a flashing blue light. A 121.5 MHz homing signal and white visible and infrared strobes aid location in poor visibility.

Positioning uses GPS, Galileo, and Glonass through a 72-channel multi-constellation receiver, with a stated accuracy within 100 meters. NFC connects to the ACR Product App to show battery life, activation time, self-test and GNSS test counts, plus test details including map position, date, time, fix duration, satellites used, and accuracy. Nominal output is 406.040 MHz at 5W and 121.5 MHz at 50mW.

The beacon weighs 1.78 lbs (810 G) and uses a replaceable Li/FeS2 lithium battery, due for replacement 10 years after manufacture or after activation. Class 2 storage temperature is -22°F to +158°F (-30°C to +70°C); operating temperature is -4°F to +131°F (-20°C to +55°C). It activates when wet and out of its bracket or manually in or out of the bracket.

It is buoyant, waterproof to 33 ft (10 m) for 5 minutes, and has a minimum operational life of 48 hours at -4°F (-20°C). The warranty is 5 years. The package includes the beacon, a CAT II bracket (P/N 9656, included in P/N 2852), and mounting hardware (P/N 9657).
