It exaggerates scene depth—bringing foreground subjects forward and causing distant elements to fall back toward the horizon. Optical improvements use high-index / low-dispersion glass, updated barrel materials, anti-reflection coatings, and the latest computer-aided-design / computer-aided-manufacturing techniques to greatly reduce lens flare and ghosting from reflections. Mechanical and finish features include BAB (Internal Black Almite Barrel) with a black matte satin finish to cut internal reflections, and BRG (Black Rimmed Glass) to minimize the chance of light reflecting off the edge.
