It detects ferrous metal, such as steel, up to 3 inches deep and non-ferrous metal, such as copper, up to 1 ½ inches deep. WireWarning® Detection alerts you to live, unshielded AC wires up to 2 inches deep while scanning for studs or metal. It is designed for home-improvement and professional projects, including mounting shelves, TVs and cabinets.
