Yamaha YAC SOMMERVILLE Silver Horn Mouthpiece sku-25979698

Yamaha YAC SOMMERVILLE is a Silver-plated James Sommerville Signature Series French horn mouthpiece in Brass Instrument Accessories. It has a 6.93mm inner diameter, semi-flat contour, medium rim thickness, standard V-shaped cup depth, 4.30mm throat and standard backbore. Its medium-depth cup is intended to give a full sound while allowing upper-register playing and movement through the break.

The mouthpiece is suited to solos, chamber music and principal horn playing in a large symphony orchestra. James Sommerville is principal horn of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. He has played in the Montreal Symphony, Toronto Symphony and Symphony Nova Scotia, and was solo horn of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. His competition prizes include those from Munich, Toulon and CBC.

Yamaha developed its Signature Series with players at its R&D Ateliers and makes each mouthpiece on a computer-controlled lathe to match the namesake’s model. SKU sku-25979698; UPC 086792642253.
