Yamaha CBR15 15" 2-Way Passive Loudspeaker – Portable FOH/Monitor

Built from Yamaha’s long history of loudspeaker engineering, the CBR Series marries careful component selection, targeted acoustic design, and modern manufacturing approaches to deliver powerful, high-definition sound in a compact, transportable package. The CBR15 offers the lowest-frequency extension in the CBR lineup, making it an excellent choice for front-of-house, DJ setups, live performance, floor monitoring or installations that demand strong low-end and high SPL performance. Transducers and Horn Design: Each CBR cabinet uses carefully selected, custom-tuned drivers—a highly responsive woofer paired with a precise 2.5 compression driver (CBR15) or 2 compression driver (CBR10 and CBR12). The newly designed wide-dispersion constant directivity horn reduces off-axis pattern degradation common to conventional horns, producing a more rectangular coverage pattern and more even dispersion across the listening area. Protection and Low-Frequency Response: To prevent HF driver damage from excessive input, the CBR Series includes an HF protection circuit that limits extreme input levels. Combined with the quick-reacting low-frequency driver, this ensures reliable, clear sound with minimal distortion even at elevated output levels. Enclosure and Portability: CBR speakers use a compact, durable lightweight plastic cabinet with redesigned ergonomic handles for easier transport and setup. A steel front grille protects internal components while maintaining a clean appearance for installations. Connectivity and Monitoring Angle: Connections are simple and professional—each unit features one speakON jack and one 1/4" phone jack for quick hookup. The enclosure geometry includes a 50 wedge angle optimized for floor monitor use; the CBR12 and CBR15 symmetrical shapes also allow mirror-mode floor monitoring for a wider, more defined sweet spot. Installation and Accessories: For fixed installations, CBR loudspeakers include M8 rigging points compatible with optional brackets or standard eyebolts. Yamaha also offers a functional speaker cover designed to shield the enclosures from adverse weather, dust, and road wear (Functional Speaker Cover is not included).
