X1012 for RPi 5 POE PCIe to M.2 NVMe SSD Board — Supports 2230/2242/2260/2280
The X1012 is a POE-capable NVMe expansion module built for RPi 5, converting a PCIe interface to an M.2 NVMe slot to add high-capacity, high-performance storage while supplying stable power. It accepts M.2 NVMe SSDs in sizes 2230, 2242, 2260 and 2280, making it flexible for different storage needs. This board supports booting the operating system from an NVMe SSD, enabling faster application launches and quicker file transfers compared with SD card storage. Note: new NVMe SSDs typically arrive without partitions — you must partition and format the drive after the first connection to the RPi before it will be visible in file explorers. POE (Power Over Ethernet) on the X1012 allows the RPi and connected network devices to receive power over the same Ethernet cable used for data, without altering standard Ethernet wiring. The result is a compact solution that provides both reliable power delivery and expanded NVMe storage for RPi 5 systems.
