Whirlpool 279838 Dryer Heating Element

This Whirlpool Dryer Heating Element works with many Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Roper, Kitchen Aid and other clothes dryers. This is a standard nichrome-wire heating element, just like the heating element in a toaster. This heating element works when a switch on the motor turns on the heating element, which glows red hot and begins to heat the dryer. When the dryer reaches a pre-set temperature the heating element is turned off. When the dryer then falls to a certain temperature the heating element turns back on and heats up the dryer.
