This sale includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is NOT included. Because we stock a large number of compatible PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Purpose: This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Important ROM note: Most WD PCBs carry unique configuration data stored in a ROM ("memory") chip. That ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. Adaptation service: For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service — either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
