Listing includes the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — hard drive is NOT included. Because we have a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery work. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will solve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive circuit boards store unique factory data in a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be desoldered and moved, a local computer technician can usually perform that task. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that covers either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
