This sale is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — the hard drive is not included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact printed circuit board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The board is intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Before purchasing, ensure a PCB swap will resolve your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and confirm part compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is essential for correct drive operation; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you cannot transplant the chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either relocating the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
