This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the exact PCB you receive may vary slightly from the photo. The board is intended for HDD repair and data recovery work. Before buying, confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue by using our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide, and check compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Many WD PCBs contain unique ROM data in a memory (ROM) chip that is required for proper drive operation; that ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If transfer is feasible, a local computer technician should be able to perform the swap. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either moves the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the board with the correct ROM contents.
