This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may look slightly different than the photo. Intended for HDD repair and data-recovery work, this replacement PCB can be used to attempt recovery when the original board has failed. Most 3.5" drive boards contain unique ROM ("memory") data required for the drive to function; that ROM or its contents must be moved to or replicated on the replacement board. If transplanting the ROM chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; alternatively, for customers with orders of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
