This listing is for the hard drive PCB (logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the specific board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These replacement circuit boards are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery applications. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and check compatibility with the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM (memory) chip that is required for the drive to function correctly; that ROM or its contents must be moved to or programmed onto the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically transferred to the new board, a local computer technician should be able to perform the swap. For purchases of $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip to the replacement PCB or reprogramming the new board with the correct ROM data.
