This listing is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock many of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. These PCBs are intended for hard drive repair and data recovery use. Most WD PCBs contain unique data stored in a ROM memory chip that is required for proper drive operation; the ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer; alternatively, we provide a complimentary adaptation service on orders of $60 or more, which covers either physically moving the ROM chip or reprogramming the new PCB with the correct ROM data.
