This sale includes only the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board). No hard drive enclosure, platters or other HDD components are included. Because we have a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed primarily for hard drive repair and data recovery tasks, this PCB is intended as a replacement board for compatible WD 3.5" SATA drives. Before purchasing, confirm that a replacement board will address your issue by following our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Many hard drive PCBs store unique parameters in a ROM (memory) chip that are essential for proper drive operation; this ROM data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transferring the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
