This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we keep a large stock of these PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery attempts, this PCB is a replacement part only. Before buying, confirm that a PCB swap will address your problem by using our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most of these circuit boards contain a unique ROM "memory" chip that holds essential drive-specific data; that ROM or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board for the drive to function correctly. If the ROM chip can be physically moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For customers spending $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either relocates the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the new board with the correct ROM data.
