This listing is for a hard drive PCB / logic board ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended for hard drive repair and data recovery, this circuit board can be used as a replacement component when troubleshooting a drive. Most WD circuit boards contain essential, unique information stored in the ROM memory chip that is required for the drive to function. That ROM data must be moved to the replacement board or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM contents. If moving the chip is possible, a local computer technician can usually perform that transfer. For customers spending $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
