This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. This PCB is supplied for hard drive repair and data recovery use. To confirm a replacement board will resolve your issue, consult our Hard Drive Diagnostics Guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most WD circuit boards store unique drive-specific data in a ROM (memory) chip; that information is required for the drive to operate correctly. The ROM chip or its data must be carried over to the replacement PCB. If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transplant. For customers with orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprograms the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
