This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive is included. Because we maintain a large inventory, the actual PCB you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Use this board for hard drive repair or data recovery projects. To confirm a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, consult our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility via the Donor Matching Guide. Many PCBs store unique data in the ROM "memory" chip; that data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service, which covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the board with the correct ROM data.
