This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — the actual hard drive is not included. Because we stock these PCBs in large quantities, the board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Designed for HDD repair and data-recovery work, this PCB is intended as a replacement part rather than a complete drive. Before ordering, confirm compatibility by following our Donor Matching Guide and run the troubleshooting steps in our hard drive Diagnostics Guide to determine whether a PCB swap will address your issue. Most hard drive PCBs store essential, unique data on a ROM "memory" chip; that information is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip itself, or its contents, must be moved or copied to the replacement board. If transplanting the chip is feasible, a local computer technician can usually perform the procedure. For customers who spend $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that either transfers the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprograms the new board with the correct ROM data.
