This sale is for the hard drive printed circuit board (PCB / logic board) ONLY — no hard drive, platters, or enclosure are included. Because we carry a large inventory of PCBs, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. Intended use: data recovery and hard drive repair. Before purchasing, follow our hard drive diagnostics guide to confirm that a replacement PCB will resolve your issue, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most HDD PCBs contain unique information stored in a ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to function correctly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board (or the new board must be reprogrammed with the correct ROM data). If the ROM chip can be moved, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For orders of $60 or more we include a complimentary adaptation service that covers either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the proper ROM data.
