This listing is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we have a large inventory, the exact board you receive may differ slightly from the photo. The PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data-recovery procedures. Most drive PCBs store unique ROM "memory" data that is essential for normal operation; that ROM (or its contents) must be transferred or replicated on the replacement board. If you cannot transfer the ROM chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the task. For customers spending $60 or more we provide a complimentary adaptation service that will either transplant the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogram the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
