Because we maintain a large stock of PCBs, the specific board you receive may vary slightly from the pictured item. This PCB is intended for use in hard drive repair or data recovery work. Before ordering, confirm that a PCB replacement is appropriate by following our hard drive diagnostics guide and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs store unique configuration and calibration data in a ROM "memory" chip; this information is required for proper drive operation. The ROM chip or its data must be transferred to the replacement board. If the chip can be moved, a local computer technician can typically perform the transplant. For purchases of $60 or more, we provide a complimentary adaptation service that includes either moving the ROM chip to the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
