This sale is for the hard drive circuit board (PCB / logic board) only — the hard drive itself is not included. Because we stock a large number of PCBs, the actual board you receive may differ slightly from the photograph. This PCB is intended for hard drive repair or data recovery work. Prior to buying, confirm that a PCB swap is the correct fix by consulting our hard drive diagnostics guide, and verify compatibility using the Donor Matching Guide. Most hard drive PCBs contain unique information stored in the ROM "memory" chip; that ROM data is required for the drive to operate properly. The ROM chip or its contents must be transferred to the replacement board. If you are unable to move the chip yourself, a local computer technician can usually perform the transfer. For purchases of $60 or more we provide complementary adaptation service, which includes either transplanting the ROM chip onto the new PCB or reprogramming the replacement board with the correct ROM data.
